Berlin
verso labeled in typeset: Germany (?) bumper wheat crop (CH)
Berlin, Germany — according to Ministry of Agriculture officials here, Germany is in process of harvesting its largest wheat crop in many years. So large is the yield this year and so acute the farm labor shortage because of increased industrial activity connected with armament production, that it has been necessary to impress soldiers and to enlist the aid of private citizens to bring in the sheaves. In addition, 113,000 Italian peasants have been imported to help with the harvest. Foreign observers, mindful of last September's crisis, believe that once the crop is in, Germany will take action to settle the Danzig question.
