Description

More than 30 persons were injured and 24 arrested as the aftermath of a violent anti-Nazi riot in Berlin. The battle raged with unabated fury for more than three hours when invaders attempted to storm a Nazi meeting hall. Rioters, armed with baseball bats, bricks and stench bombs, fought until 100 police broke the ranks of the rioters with tear gas bombs. The above photo shows Nazis carrying Leo Fro… from the hall under guard during the riot. The man was taken to police headquarters for his own protection.Credit Line (ACME) 5/22/34Stamp: ACME Newspictures, Inc.; Ref. Dept. May 25 1934 N. E. A.
