"Fair Game" -- German Sailors Signal From Captured Ship.
At-Sea..........."A Contraband Carrier" -- and therefore "Fair Game" -- such is the import of the message wig-wagged by this German sailor from the Estonian freighter "Aarne", which he and other men of Nazi prize crew boarded in the North Sea. The "Aarne" was halted by German destroyer in Nazi counter-blockade squadron and a prize crew sent aboard to search for contraband. Search disclosed that the "Aarne" carried timber, and other banned "sinews" of war, so she was seized and taken to the nearest German port.
