Hitler enters Memel in triumph
Memel -- Reichsfuehrer Adolf Hitler, ending his second conquest of the week, stands in his automobile as he enters Memel, March 23rd, after making the journey to the former Lithuanian city by sea on a pocket battleship. Nazi troops who occupied the city earlier in the day raise their arms in salute as they form a cordon in front of a huge crowd of Memellanders. This picture was rushed to Berlin and sent to New York by radio.
